Liberia’s education crisis: why schools like ours matter

Education in Liberia faces major challenges. Low literacy rates, under-resourced schools, and economic barriers preventing many children from getting an education. Only 54% of children complete primary school, and many families struggle to afford tuition fees.

At Damiefa School, we provide affordable, high-quality education that integrates literacy programs, hands-on learning, and structured teacher training. Since reopening, enrolment has grown from 65 to more than 300 students.

But with this growth also comes new challenges: we don’t have enough classrooms and need better facilities. We’ll be raising funds to address these challenges.
