Donate to build a stronger future in Liberia

For $250, you cover one child's school fees for a full year

At Damiefa School in Dabwe Town, Liberia, nearly 400 children come to learn every day. Many of their families cannot afford the school fees. For $250, you can cover one child’s school fees for a full year and help them continue their education.

Meet the children of Damiefa School

Natasha wants to become a lawyer so she can protect the rights of people in her community. She is bright, determined, cheerful and hardworking. But she comes from one of the poorest families in our communities, and without a scholarship, her mother cannot afford her school fees.

Children like Natasha are why Damiefa School exists. Damiefa School was founded in 1982 by Dabwe Wiah and Mineke Muilerman to offer affordable private education to children in Dabwe Town. After the civil war, the school buildings were badly damaged and the school eventually had to close. Mineke Foundation has since renovated the school, which now serves nearly 400 children.

Today, Damiefa School again offers children in Dabwe Town a genuinely high-quality education. Our students follow the Liberian national curriculum, strengthened with programmes in reading comprehension, art, agriculture, digital skills and life skills.

But quality education has a cost, and many families simply cannot cover it. Your support helps children stay in school.

What your $250 makes possible

One school fee scholarship for one child for one full year.

That means:

  • A child stays in school instead of dropping out

  • A family is relieved of a burden they cannot carry

  • A future – as a lawyer, a teacher, a business owner – becomes possible

Scholarship donations are used to support school fees for Damiefa School students whose families cannot carry the full cost alone. You will receive an update about the impact of your donation through our newsletters and annual reports. We publish newsletters 3-4 times per year and full annual reports so you can see exactly how your contribution is used.

Can't give $250? Even $10 helps!

We understand that not everyone can give $250.

There are other ways to help:

  • $125 covers half a year of school fee support
  • $50 contributes to a partial scholarship
  • $25 helps keep the scholarship fund available for children from the poorest families
  • $10 helps add compulsory textbooks to our library so children from the poorest families can use them at school
