Micro loans
Borrowing & repaying
Approximately 90% of the participants in our vocational and entrepreneurship training courses are women. Most of them start a business after graduation. They have shown themselves to be strong and competent, capable of handling responsibility and contributing to the economic and social development of their communities.
We are determined to help these women become economically independent. Through our Savings & Loans scheme, these (young) women learn how to save money through monthly cash deposits (susu). They can also access small loans. This teaches them about repayment schedules and interest. Most women start by borrowing small amounts, usually less than 75 US dollars.

To support women whose businesses are growing, we have established a micro loan fund. Women who have successfully completed two loan cycles in the Savings & Loans scheme can borrow from our micro loan fund. The amount that they can currently borrow is between USD 150 and USD 900.
